The centerpiece of the mall’s festive spectacle this year is a captivating installation of eight-meter-high festive trees that sends a powerful message to visitors to the Mall of the Emirates and to the world. Every hour from from 12 p.m. to midnight, the carbon neutral LED tree will feature an impactful display focused on climate change and sustainability, with the incredible experience highlighting how the community can work together to reduce its impact on the environment.

The Mall of the Emirate’s holiday season will also feature a festive market, made up of unique vendors serving a rich range of festive food and delicious drinks. Customers will also be able to purchase trinkets, gifts and holiday-themed items to treat loved ones.

Michelle walsh, Senior Director, Marketing and Communication, Shopping Centers, Majid Al Futtaim, comments: “The holiday season is a time of giving, marked by joy, generosity, the festive spirit and conviviality. The holiday season is truly a joyous celebration of belonging; a celebration in which friends, families and communities are even closer. As a community we all have a role to play in supporting and protecting the environment and this year the Mall of the Emirates holiday events program is firmly anchored in the future. We want to spread the seasonal joy and create more good times for everyone, every day. “

Ibrahim Al-Zu’bi, Director of Sustainability at Majid Al Futtaim – Holding, comments: “The UAE is poised to ride the crest of a wave of global sustainability progress, which reflects our goals at Majid Al Futtaim. As a leader in sustainable development, we are always looking to find ways to reduce its impact on the environment and to help the world in its mission of sustainable development. Our sustainability journey at Majid Al Futtaim began almost fifteen years ago and during that time we have made incredible progress. Mall of the Emirates experienced a 7% reduction in water consumption, 4% reduction in carbon emissions, 32% increase in recycling rate and we are generating 3M kWh of renewable energy. By incorporating sustainability at the heart of our festive celebrations this year, we are raising awareness of this important issue as we move towards Net Positive by 2040. ”
