BARGAINS & BLESSINGS
Faith Chapel United Methodist Church will have their “Bargains & Blessings” Community Store open tomorrow, Aug. 6, at the church from 9 a.m. until noon.
Generally the items are taken out into the community in a big cargo trailer, but since this is the last event for the summer, all items will be available for purchase at the church which is located at 551 Hunter Run Road, Howard. You’ll turn off Route 150 near Bald Eagle State Park.
There is an abundance of quality clothing, shoes and accessories that the store and church volunteers would love to sell. There are over 20 racks and six tables of clothing that will be offered at discounted prices. Fill a bag for just $5 at this sale.
The thrift store is open to all comers, regardless of income.
Take the stress out of Back to School Shopping by visiting the Bargains & Blessings Community Store at Faith Chapel Church tomorrow morning. Items range in size from infants to 3X.
All profits from Bargains & Blessings benefit outreach and the local community.
CRUISIN’ FOR COLTON
It’s once again time for (Jimmy & Teri) Holsinger’s Automotive Repair’s annual Hot Rod Poker Run and this year the proceeds will benefit a baby boy named Colton and his family who live in Bellefonte.
The Poker Run will be held on Aug. 6 at the Milesburg Legion grounds. Registration for the run starts at 10 a.m. and will be $15. The poker run ride begins at noon and usually takes about two hours as you draw your cards at each stop along the ride before returning to the Legion Grounds for winners announcements.
All day long at the Legion grounds there will be family fun. A Chinese auction, flea market, swap meet and a dunk tank featuring Centre County Sheriff Sampsel and State Representative Stephanie Borowicz are just some of the happenings planned for the day. Food vendors are still needed and there’s room for more flea market and craft vendors to set up.
Colton is an 11-month-old baby boy who has already had to have multiple heart surgeries. Proceeds from Holsinger’s 9th Annual Poker Run will go directly to Colton and his parents to help with their travel expenses for doctor and hospital visits and for his medical expenses.
So, bring your classic car, your hot rod, or the family car and go Cruisin’ for Colton tomorrow!
Call Teri at 814-867-1023 for more details and please keep little Colton in your prayers!
