In accordance with guidelines established by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to limit public gatherings, many of the following meetings / activities may be edited, canceled, streamed, or online. Nose and mouth masks are mandatory in all government offices and buildings. Temperature checks can be performed. Check out available websites and social media.

Municipal Notes

SHREDDING: NorCo residents only: Free household document shredding events, 10 a.m. to noon, October 16, rain or shred, 2801 Emrick Blvd. Waste paper will not be accepted by any company or organization.

There is a limit of three boxes or bags per vehicle with a weight limit of 25 pounds per box or bag. Items accepted include accounting records, canceled checks, pay stubs, financial statements, investment transactions, legal documents, medical records, tax forms, etc. Unacceptable documents include junk mail, magazines, catalogs, photographs, negatives and x-rays. Staples, paper clips, rubber bands and files are acceptable. Ring binders, metal bands and plastic protections or coverings will be refused.

SBA DISASTER LOANS: Lamont McClure and Northampton County Emergency Management Services announce that homeowners, residents and businesses are now eligible for Small Business Assistance Loans (SBAs) for any damage suffered by the hurricane Ida. Personal injury claims must be filed by November 9, 2021; claims related to economic loss are due no later than June 10, 2022.

The following loans are available: commercial physical disaster loan; loans in the event of economic disasters; and home disaster loans.

Applicants can apply online, receive additional information on disaster assistance, and download applications by visiting https://disasterloanassistance.sba.gov/ela or by calling 1-800-659-2955. Send an email to [email protected] for more information on SBA Disaster Assistance.

BALL BOXES: The Northampton County Election Office is announcing that it will set up a secure mail-in ballot box in each of the county’s four districts. The boxes will be available until November 2, 2021 at 8 p.m. Access to drop boxes does not require security. The places and times of drop-off are:

Government Center Rotunda, 8:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday to Friday, 669 Washington St., Easton.

When casting a ballot, voters can park for free in the loading and unloading area on Washington Street in front of the courthouse or use the new parking lot at the intersection of Wolf Avenue and Washington Street.

To prevent a mail-in ballot from being rejected, electors must ensure that the ballot is securely enclosed in the sealed private envelope, that the return envelope is signed and dated, and that it is not There is no identifying mark or symbol on the private envelope and that the ballot is returned to the election office by 8 p.m. on November 2.

Voters can only cast their own ballots.
